What upscale bars / lounges in New York that you recommend?

For my bachelorette party we are looking for a top salon end or bar in the city. I'm not the clubby type for most, and I do not usually hang out in bars. Just a place that is pleasant and comfortable, with good drinks and decor. Until now, we are looking at Flute Bar, the Bubble Lounge and The Marriott Marquis in order. Other suggestions?

Go down to the Meat Packing District (Far West 14th St. and surrounding area) or SoHo and walk until you find one place you all love, there are plenty of them!
