Are pin-holes in shower grout ok?
We sealed the grout in our shower about a month ago, I just recently noticed that there are several pin-holes in a few spots throughout the grout. How bad is that? Should I reseal the grout or fill in holes before resealing? Should I call the installer (is this because of his error?) or is this something that just happens sometimes?
since we already sealed it do you think some grout can just be added to the holes then resealed, or does it need to be completely regrouted and then resealed?
The main cause usually is air pockets that can t be detected when grouting. Correct grouting and you don t get this but on the rare occasion. The person should be called back to fix this but sometimes its easier and faster just to do it yourself if you have the grout from the job... If you do it yourself, dig out the hole just a bit to make sure it isn t a bigger air pocket. Mix a small bit in a disposable cup and rub into the hole and wipe down. Seal in 3 days .. GL
