Is it illegal to have blue NON-BLINKING LED or NEON lights on the SIDE of my motorcycle in Illinois?
I've recently purchased a Honda VTX 1300 R. It is a nice blue. In addition, I've also purchased the blue non blinking lights that accentuate the chrome and installed them. I have friends that are cops and half say that if they are not blinking it's okay.. other half say they would pull over and ticket in a heartbeat. Any attorneys, officers, lawmakers, or otherwise that can comment on this? Here is a link I found also - http://www.markmccoy.com/neon%20light%20... . Any input about the lights ( not interested in your opinion on my choice of bike - sorry ) would be appreciated.
As far as a I know that would be illegal to have on running down the road. If your parked (motor not running) or in a parade it should be ok.
It might depend on the cop like you stated. I think most states would say if its not red or amber on the front or rear it would be illegal
I would just put them on a switch. that way if someone stops you, you can say "I didn't know ociffer" and turn them off. (officer)
