How do I connect a light switch on a socket using cables weird?

I have an electrical problem and my landlord wont help me solve it. I have a light switch in my room, but no light. Only 4 outlets. The light switch controls any of these outlets, but the power of the entire room to browse SEEMS that switch. Cable consists of two incoming son hot, one neutral and a ground out and a hot wire, one neutral and one ground. I can not understand how to connect this switch so that I can control at least one outlet for lighting. Can anyone give some advice?

If it was wired correctly, you will a hot switch goes red or black. Whites are all interconnected. a black man comes out the other terminal of the switch with a white man who goes to light. If this is true I would check the ceiling or the wall that resembles an obvious spot for a light with a stud finder as someone probally a hidden box that controls light switch.
