observers of the Sabbath, it would be writing you use to convince a brother in Christ on the truth of the Sabbath?
I need as many help I can get, especially I need to address the overarching concept that my friend wants the grace of God makes no Ten Commandments effect. I have some ideas but I am certainly nothing to lose and can only benefit from evidence derived from divine guidance, because there could have I missed writing. Please search your heart and the Word diligently in response, as is proper in the Lord Scriptures and provide an answer, citing chapter and verse. Thank you in advance. God will certainly bless you as you go to make his work. Jesus is God!
Friend, the problem here is the popular teaching that God's grace takes away the law, which is not. Jesus Christ Himself said that it would not do away with the law (Matt 4). He then went ahead to show that the commandments must be kept in mind not only the letter. The apostle Paul said that where there is no law, there no transgression (Rom. 4:15), if Grace retired law, none of us is in need of forgiveness and a Savior, because there was no such thing as sin, because there would be no law to transgress, in the first place. People are now teaching that the CB was based on law, but NC is based entirely on grace. This is not true, since the CN is based on the Law and Grace (Jer. 31:31-34; Hebrews 8:6-13). Jesus Christ died to pay the penalty for sin, and that includes breaking the Sabbath. Heb 4 shows that it remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God (v.9 is translated as "rest" from the Greek "Sabbatismos" - keeping a Sabbath, and not "katapausis" just to relax). Comments: If you do not mind a couple comments on some answers here. 1) Circumcision was the sign of the OC, not the Sabbath 2) God said Sabbaths are to Him, and they do not belong to Israel or the Jews (Leviticus 23).
