If I hat AT&T, does it cost extra to use the email function on my phone if I don't have a Web plan?

My plan has unlimited text but I don't have anything for web. I was just wondering if I could use the email function on my phone without being charged extra. Also, is it possible to use the IM function as well? I have AT&T btw. Thanks!

You cannot use anything that uses web unless you are covered under a plan. It will let you use it still but you will be charged a certain amount per KB which is so much more expensive than getting the package which comes out to be like 50cents a day. Using internet on a phone without that plan can cost you up to 150.00 a day depending on how much you use it. Get the plan for just a few days then you only have to pay the pro-rated price for how many days you had it. For example. If I got the package on my line and took it off 3days later I would only owe 1.50 because I had the package for only 3days. IM uses internet,email does too...also pictures and videos will too. Check out At&t website it should tell you how much per kb you would pay. Trust me I know....you need the package!
