Can I wear black low-top converse with cargo shorts?

Logic would say you cant wear light colored cargo shorts with black shoes but I heard something about it being ok with low-top converse. If not converse, then what shoes should I buy to match lighter colored cargo shorts. I already have enough of flip flops and sandals, so I don't require recommendations on thoughts two.

Ofcourse you can!!! aslong as the shorts arent brown. Brown with black dont mix that good. It can, but very hard to pull off (the average person wont be able to do it). Make sure to wear black ankle socks (try to make them the least visible).
