What is the best air filter and large (for want of a better term) of fuel for a pack of Harley Street Bob 2006.?
I current V & H Short shots staggered. Shopping around I was, but with all the options out there, over her pretty overwhelming. I am looking for something that will give me better performance and sound. any help would be appreciated
First, the issue air filter. I do not know where Susanne gets the idea that the filters used Screamin Eagle "paper" elements, which is totally false. SE actually uses the same media K & N filter uses, there are two different types, depending on what filter you get. Most air purifiers use an SE dry is made of a material similar to fiberglass, the fibers are woven into a mesh-like gauze-like elements most people think of when they think K & N filters, K & N also uses this type of item on their new "SEC CHARGER" filters. SE also uses filters gauze exactly the same as K & N. There are so many different air purifiers on the market that have almost the same level of performance, it is literally become a matter of taste what you like. The small differences in performance will never be "felt" by the seat of your pants, only a dyno will tell the difference 1-3 ch. Do not try to push the parties HD, but in fact they are one of the best air purifiers on the market, the heavy breather SE, which is actually a pretty decent price for what it is ....... The Vance & Hines VO2 http://www.latus-harley-davidson.com/Screamin-Eagle-Street-Legal-Heavy-Breather-Performance-Air-Cleaner-Kit-2.htm filter Air is also another good performer, as is the Arlen Ness Big Sucker, which is the air filter more reasonable ($ 150) and uses the stock with a lid / C. Now for the tuner "..... "Stay away from power control, the V & H Fuel Pak, etc., they feed control only they do not schedule, rev-limit, and adjustments of the accelerator pump, which are essential for better performance! For the latest years I have been strongly advise people to stay with the Screamin Eagle Super Tuner and have set dyno. For the average street bike, it was the best available option, nothing to add to the bike, nothing to install, etc., simply reprogram the ECM for each stock control system of the ECM. For motors with higher ouput, ThunderMax system was the best option ..... Note that I said "was" twice .... I was recently introduced to a relatively new company called Revolution Performance. I built several engines by using their big bore kits and head of service and work the crank. This company is REMARKABLE !!!!.... BEST cylinders on the market ... hands down!. Revolution has recently introduced a new injection tuning system, the RP precision EMS, I used 3 times and I can testify WORKS .... and no adjustment necessary dyno !!!!! Just order the kit tuner, send them your stock ECM for them to reflash, reinstall the ECM, install the receiver, follow the instructions on how to start an initial mating and that's it. It continuously monitors the engine is made and automatically adjusts the air / fuel ratio and ignition timing for optimum performance ... is the self-same self adjusts to all the mods MINOR engine do in the future, for future mods major (Big Bore, stroke, head worn, etc.), just send them the ECM again, with information from the engine and they reprogam new to this combination. If your exhaust is not fitting for oxygen sensors, you will need to be welded This is not a big deal at all. The system is about $ 850, but worth it !!!... Just compare the numbers, $ 450 for the tuner super and $ 300-400 for the dyno tuning, and in the future, if you make changes, you must re-listening ... and a single bolt cam change STRONGLY adivsed ... stock cams are CRAP, extremely low due to EPA restrictions, about 12-15 HP & TQ can be acquired even with the gentlest of cam bolts $ 300!
